Rhonda R Carpenter – Right on the Money

In my quest to highlight authors who have an astounding grasp of new media and where it’s bringing us, I would be remiss if I did not mention Rhonda R Carpenter.

Not surprisingly, I think she’s a great author. Her latest book, The Mark of a Druid really kept me interested. The way she merged past and present, the effect one could have on the other, into one story was really quite brilliant. It’s an excellent fantasy tale, and I certainly recommend that.

Of course, if I just talked about good stories, I wouldn’t be making any real point beyond “I liked this!”. Rhonda really does go above and beyond, though. She’s embraced social and digital media, using her blogs, podiobooks, and Facebook to effectively communicate with her fans, so that, to me, she becomes more than just a name on a dust jacket, but feels like someone I would really enjoy sitting down for a cup of coffee with. She’s really real.

Then there’s the other projects she’s got her fingers into. Like the Wicked Women Writers challenge I wrote about before. It’s really such a great way to encourage writers to stretch their mental muscles, and it’s a really good shot at some extra publicity as well.

Then there’s her own Podioracket.com, where she interviews the authors of upcoming books on Podiobooks, giving them a chance to promote themselves, and highlighting interesting tidbits for interested readers.

Really, what more could you ask for? Here is a creative and successful writer who also gives of her own time to help other authors out as well. Talented and caring. Thanks for being an inspiration Rhonda. Thank you for being so inspiring.

Now that was a ton of nice things to say. You made my day! And as a coffee junkie I would definitely say yes to a cuppa with you. I personally am looking forward to the release of the shorts associated with The Mark of a Druid that will be releasing soon. One in The Glimpses anthology and the other independently. That will be a great way to spread the word as well as keep the fans coming back while I finish the sequel. Big thank you for sharing alittle about me and my new cowboy boots!

The Wicked Women Writers are at it again! You have until Nov 16th to vote for the most wicked woman write who will carry the title Most wicked for 2010!

This year there are more contestants and more stories. The rules were this the theme was the 7 deadly sins. Each of us was given a sin and 30 days to write record edit and produce a audio version of the sin we were assigned. I got LUST! Imagine that! As you can guess this is not a story for the little ones and it is not work safe, you have been warned!

I had a good time with this story and now that I have listened to all 6 of the entries I must say you will have a hard time picking!

Once you have heard them all email Emzbox@sbcglobal.net with your vote. In the subject line put WWW and your vote goes in the body. One of the voters will win schwag from all of the women!  You can only vote once. The winner will be drawn at random and each writer will send you something.

Today is the last day of packing. Tomorrow we load the truck/cars and hitch up the trailers. Then Thursday morning the convoy will be on the road moving across country. This has been an extremely busy month. But I am excited to announce we have firm dates and a solid route for the move.

Take off day is June 24th and we hope to cover a lot of ground Watch my twitter feed for where we are stopping and how the trip is going. Move day is the 24th of June and we expect to be on the road about 3 days. All things are being handled and I really feel like I have a good plan for this move. The house is packed save what I use every day.

The magnets for the vehicles arrived and turned out great! Have a gander.

In a few weeks I will be announcing GO for the push to get everyone to spread the word. If you are off our route you can watch my posts and catch me at a rest stop, gas station or honk if you pass me. I will be posting pictures of the caravan that will move our home from lovely Lake Arrowhead, Ca to Wilburton OK. So the WWW knows tomorrow is the first day of weekly readings in SL of The Mark of a Druid. The readings will be live and be a pretty straight read with some sound effects for POV changes if I can get it set up in time.
